I guess this is where this goes...

I was not Drunk when I answered the Kijiji advert.....

After playing a number of Martins and Taylors  and Larivee's the Taylors seemed to feel right for me.
I found a 2012 Taylor 314 ce in excellent shape at a very fair price and although about 75 miles away in another town I snapped it up.
Feels and sounds great after a new set of strings.
Different animal from the Fenders and Gibson electrics I have.
I think I have to brush up on Technique now.......harder to cover sloppy playing....  :-)

Great score. I'm curious what it was about the Larivees (other than price) that didn't speak to you. I have lusted after every one I've played.

Also, what is the Michael Palin book on your shelf?

Larivees were very nice but I only looked at guitars in the $1,000 to 1,500.00 range and the Taylor 114ce just felt better and sounded better to my ear. They were all very close Martin, Larivee and Taylor I would love to have any of them.
When the used Taylor 314ce came available the upgrade in solid wood over the laminate and the slight better sound (maybe just my perception) and the fact it was at the top of my price range and barely used......tipped the scale.
Our 13% tax on new instruments would have made the price difference closer.

The Palin book is his Diary through the Python years and interesting if you are a fan.
