Not just my favourite Tom Petty song, but one of my all-time favourites by anybody. Features three layers of Telecaster, Precision Bass, vocals and Garageband drums. I think there's some piano lost in the mix somewhere too.

Mr Petty was a unique talent, and trying to cover him only proved that point further.

Brilliant cover, love the tone in the lead guitar part.
The stacked telecasters give off that 12 string feel much better idea than adding chorus.
Excellent recording too,it all sits well in the mix.
And as usual a great vocal.
A fine tribute.

I'm not familiar with the original, but you've caught Tom Petty's "spirit" very well on this!

Great job with this, too!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

FuzzFace

This is awesome.
Vocals sound a little like George Harrison.

Guitar interplay is absolutely great.
Impeccable recording as usual.

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back
On that you can rely

This is so great cover! I like this more than original. How can I say it? It´s more peaceful and I love your voice.

Rolow

Beautifully done Mr. Greeny.  Vocals and guitar especially good.

Tom Petty had a knack for putting original licks and lyrics together.  He will be missed.
