I think I prefer this to the original too, I prefer the mood. Brilliant vocal performance, a very fresh version of this track. For some reason I could feel harmonica playing little bits and pieces along to this (all in my head of course!!).

Great vocal harmonies and stripped down version Ella. Sorry but 1:44 is the magic stopping number tonight.

Thanks! I appreciate. And Kari - You make me blush. 9{}  I do stripped versions because I am so lousy to play. ;D  But fact is that it´s always interesting to hear very different covers than original.

I had this song stuck in my head this morning and I noticed that it's very similar to "Don't Worry, Be Happy" by Bobby McFerrin. So I had a look on YouTube and, not surprisingly, I'm not the first person to notice the similarity. There are a lot of mashups of the two songs. Here are a couple of the better ones.

But I still like Ella's version best.

:D Indeed! You are so right! Well, I like both versions. ;D  I think Bobby McFerrin made it first?

Yes. Bobby McFerrin released "Don't Worry, Be Happy" in 1988 and 4 Non Blondes released "What's Up?" in 1992.

One of the songs I use in my lessons & some of the versions I hear of it are a little erm... rough around the edges (to say the least!)

It makes a lovely change to hear this one being played & sung so beautifully! Bravo!
