Psychedelic Britpop featuring my Tanglewood acoustic, Epiphone Les Paul, Fender Precision bass, plus Garageband drums, synths, strings, electric piano and organ.

It started out as an ode to my favourite earl grey tea but became part love song, part anti-Brexit rant.

All recorded and mixed on the MBR.

Lyrics:

The roses in the flowerbeds
are almost in bloom
By the windows of the morgues
that are Sunday front rooms
The skeletons in the closet
Go yakkety-yak
And these are the hours
That we'll never get back

And you and I are just the same
Two lovers on the stage of an absurdist play

Come and take some tea
With cardboard cut-outs in the rain
The bone china smile
Of the earl of grey

earl earl, earl of grey
earl earl, earl of grey
earl earl, earl of grey
bergamot and rain

The black-eyed unicorns
Have promised the earth
All rainbows and honey
In ermine and pearls
Leave me at the bus stop
With the poets and thieves
You're the only thing I want
The only thing I believe

'cause you and I are just the same
Two lovers on the stage of an absurdist play

Come and take some tea
With cardboard cut-outs in the rain
The bone china smile
Of the earl of grey

earl earl, earl of grey
earl earl, earl of grey
earl earl, earl of grey
bergamot and rain

Downloaded this at first onto Greeny folder of my mp3 player...

Really well done as always! So well written and performed. Thanks for sharing the lyric, they are awesome!

This is so "studio quality"...you should be a Boss recorders "mannequin", imo.

Very well done Greeny! An excellent song to get back in the groove with. It's all good but I want to mention how good your lyric and use of panning is here. It gives it a bit of the psychedelic vibe. Nice!

Ah! Now I really want a nice cup of tea! Earl Grey is my favorite.  :D And so is your music! Very nice song and great guitars! Wonderful 60´style music with a hit-vibe.  :) You´re so talented. So nice to hear your music here again. :)

Wow Greeny - I just admit, I haven't heard your music in a long while and you have definitely gone to another level brother.
This is a fantastic song. Well written, played, sung,  - everything.

I must say that incorporating the Garageband drums has added a new depth to your music.
I remember you saying you had pretty much used up all of the MBR drum sounds, so hopefully this is a new "sandbox" for you to explore and dig up some interesting stuff!

Wicked job!

(P.S. - I drink Earl Grey all the time so I will be thinking of this tune the next time I brew a cup)
It ain't pretty being easy.
