hey guys, I added a small video in the last post

Zachary Richard
Born Ralph Zachary Richard in a small village near Lafayette in Louisiana on September 8, 1950, this Cajun singer-songwriter was introduced to the piano at a very early age, was a member of the church choir at the age of 9 , And graduated in history at Tulane University in New Orleans.

After a stay in New York where he won his first record deal, he landed in Quebec in 1974 to be part of the "La veillée des veillées" rally and then participated in Le ranch at Willie and Showbizz, animated by none other than Claude Dubois (see photo).

It was a great discovery for Quebecers, that this American singer sang in French but with a much stronger accent than what the Acadians of New Brunswick had accustomed us. He quickly became a Quebec adoptive, and then shared his time between Quebec and his native Louisiana.

joint here the lyrics and translation

In South Louisiana, In the Attakapas wood
Where the river meets the levee
Planted in the cove is an old live oak
On the shore of Lake Bijou

Amongst its leaves, in the tangle of the branches
The swallows return every spring
They find refuge in that old oak
On the shore of Lake Bijou

Turn, turn in my arms
Hold me tight once again
Stay with me underneath the live oak tree
On the shore of Lake Bijou

It was in 1957
The first time that I saw them.
The two together, building their nest
On the shore of Lake Bijou

Ils revenaient quand l'hiver était fini,
Je les appelais Pierre et Marie.
Un grand monsieur, noir comme la nuit,
Sa demoiselle avec lui.

They would return when the winter was done
I called them Pierre and Marie
A big «Monsieur » black as the night.
His lady by his side

During Lent this last April
I saw him one last time
A lone bird, waiting on his branch
On the shore of Lake Bijou

He was still, his heart breaking
Watching from morning until night
Until that Sunday when he was gone
From the shore of Lake Bijou

Turn, turn in my arms
Hold me tight once again
Stay with me underneath the live oak tree
On the shore of Lake Bijou

the lake bijou is in Louisiana ... I have not found images of Lake Bijou, .. then,  images of Lake Bourget which is 200m from my home, Savoie, France
and some pictures (badly synchronized ! ...) where we play this song with my daughter and my son-in-law

it is an update after correction of the vocals with reatune

I realized by listening in my mix the chorus voices (to the third and fifth note), listening to them a capella that some notes were horribly false (out of tone) and I discovered in my arsenal of plugins,  in REAPER a plug called REATUNE and which allows to make pitch corrections as with Melodyne, with the difference that melodyne is very expensive while reatune comes with reaper for free

see the picture of reatune in allowed picture
