My brother and me were sitting around the other night just strumming and chewing the fat, we got to talking about a friend we used to play with years ago, lost touch with him, he was a great Tom Waits fan and we used to sing a few of his songs together, I've forgotten most of them now, but two of them came back to us after a bit of trial and error.

So I plugged in my BR800 when I got home and did my best at a couple of his songs, This one is I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You, I don't have the voice to do justice to the man, but here's what I came up with.

The other one's been moved to a separate thread.

It's a bit rough and ready.

If anybody wants to replace my vocals (PLEASE) I can send you just the guitar track.

Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys, it had been donkey years since I had played these songs so it was great fun, and a wee bit frustrating at times working out the pick etc, luckily enough between my brother and myself memories kicked in. I think we got pretty close in the end, just a few made up bits.

It all started with one of us saying "remember that one we used to play.........." then the fun began.

Thanks again

Cheers

Beautiful treatment of a favourite artist of mine. There is only one Tom Waites but I loved your versions.    Willie

I did not know Tom waits! Thank you for the discovery I read his incredible biography on Wiki
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
