I can't seem to come up with any new originals lately,
I think I hit that dreaded wall. :( Actually did a re-mix
of this from a while ago. This song is from PUSA's album
Freaked Out & Small which didn't do too well. I always
liked the humor in their songs and how they approached
them with the modified stringed instruments.

I put a different twist on this one and did it with
a more upbeat tempo.

Guitars - LP
Bass - Yamaha
Drums/percussion - EZ Drummer

Nice work, Mach. I like your vocal but it seems a bit under the music.
Perhaps a remix and make the vocal and the rhythm guitar stand out more in the mix.

Still a fine song.

Thanks for the suggestion Gene. I have been remixing some songs lately.
When I listen to them on my recording PC they sound much better and
all the instruments seem to sit well in the spaces. When I upload with
my laptop here they seem to lose clarity & sound muddy for some reason.
It doesn't happen all the time, but I have noticed some in comparison
between PC's.

Also I ran this one through the Lurrsen Mastering console so it may of
boosted the lows with the compression algorithm it has set. Not the best
of mastering software IK invented. I will re-examine...Thanks!

If I hadn't read your post, I'm sure I would have identified this as a PUSA song – so distinctive. You've done a great cover. Everything sounds great. And the vocal delivery is very much like the warm   and personable feel of Chris Ballew. The drums sound very natural – like a live drummer.

I'm a big PUSA fan! I probably mention PUSA on this site as often everyone else mentions Dire Straits. And I thought I had every release of theirs, but I don't have Freaked Out & Small.

Quote from: WikipediaAn interesting note about this album is that all of the songs were played with normal guitars and bass guitars in standard tuning. This is different from all of the other albums by the band, as they usually played with guitbasses and basitars, which are modified guitars with fewer strings that are tuned to Drop D flat tuning (i.e. tuned to Drop D, then tuned a semitone lower).

I'm not sure how I feel about that – but I have to complete my collection.

Have you heard ODH's cover of "Stranger?" (See below.) The three of us should form a virtual tribute band. I'll play basitar.

Excellent quality of post that I have come to expect from you. As for the wall, well we all crash into that now and again, you'll work through it. I shall look forward to that.       Willie
