PARIS TEXAS is a great film by Wim Wenders who was a golden palm at the Cannes Film Festival in 1984

The music is by Ry COODER and it is through him that I discovered the guitar slide ....

This minimalist music has much analogy in its structure with the music of Enio Morricone, "Once upon a time" in  West. En Attachment I give you a very interesting article on the comparative analise of these two movie and music

It should also be said that the theme of Paris Texas by Ry Cooder is inspired by a 1924 Blind Willie Johnson's song "Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground"

Since the 1960s, Ry Cooder has recorded numerous sessions for musicians such as Arlo Guthrie, Randy Newman, Buffy Sainte-Marie, The Everly Brothers, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Little Feat, Steve Young and Aaron Neville. And especially his friendship with another slide guitarist David Lindley, which one finds on practically all the albums of Ry

thank you for listening

This is one of those films, (like Citizen Kane, It's A Wonderful Life, and Star Wars) that I've never got round to watching... but I am familiar with the wonderful Ry Cooder score. JP, you have done a brilliant job on this. Gorgeous acoustic tone & masterful slide work. Bravo!
