OK, Mike asked for some blues bass and drums. I started out with that in mind but I have never played much blues and wasn't inspired by the blues drums on the MBR and so I ended up with this. It ain't the blues but it is a twelve bar in A. Sort of rocky funky blues. See what you guys can make of it, if anything......

BTW, playing the bass on its own without anything else is a bit weird - it's tempting to just fill the whole thing with notes like an extended solo, so I tried to resist but it ended up a bit
busy.

NOTE: Please check out the other version posted under "Funkyish Twelve Bar - New Mix" before you use this one to see which you prefer.

Cheers,

Nigel

Nigel you a star for staring the ball moving... 8)
That's exactly what I imagined altho having said that it will take practice to work out a rhythm and some lead .......I'm looking forward to the challenge ;)
altho' I am sure some of our less musically challenged brethren will steam straight in.......

I thought you Bassmen are use to leading us feckless guitarists ;D

OK who's next for the BR Drum and Bass Bank?

Oh BTW I will be mostly playing a sort of rocky funky Blues over the next week ;) :D

Yes, sorry Mike, it may be a bit tougher than a straight blues 12 bar but I'm sure you'll come up with something. If I get time I may get the Alesis drum machine out and do a proper blues with that.

And as I'm a kind of guitarist/bassist crossover, I tend to play guitar lines on the bass and bass lines on the guitar, so I never know who's leading who!

Cheers,

Nigel

Ah, the Higsons. I remember them. never saw them tho. Rip, Rig & Panic and even the Pop Group were things I was listening to at the time, plus Magazine and stuff like that. Can't get the 80s out of my blood.....

Ha wasn't sure what to expect and wasn't sure anyone would take up 48 but this is really pretty neat!.   I will give it more thought.  Maybe a slow blues. LOL
