Yep, I realise that now - 'tis a powerful thing for sure (ie: muzak!) PS: I know deep down that I wouldn't have been that good at hang gliding as an alternative pursuit so I guess I'll just stick with what I'm 'good' at. Cheers for the motivational words! Keep on Rocking in the free (?!) world .....

RE: My above 'throwing the towel in' statement. Apols - just a minor mid-life crisis blip I guess! As you were ....

AFTERTHOUGHT: Above said, I do feel it's actually become much harder to eek some kind of 'existence' as a jobbing musician in this day & age ("Shuddup Grandad!") By this I mean: 'Pay to play' venues, streaming and, in the wake of U2/Apple negotiations a while back there, the majority of the general public now expecting music to be a FREE commodity. Personally I still like to pay for the music people make (not that I can afford to of late mind - Catch 22) because: A) I realise the effort that goes into making it and B) I still like to think of 'music' as a physical thing/a complete package as opposed to random notes just floating about in the ether (without an album cover and iiner sleeve). As John Lennon once prophetically sang, nowadays 'nothing is REAL'!

Rolow

Another beauty Super8!

So you are playing both the cello and the contra bass, right?

Once again the lyric is likely to sound familiar to most people, but on a personal basis, not like this is derivative.

I like the mix of sounds, tones and the STOP.   Start up again, surprises.

Very well done.

Thank you Rolow Ron! Yeah, I wrote & play all the parts (don't tell anyone but 'the band' SUPER 8 is just: Me, Myself & I ... "ssSHH!") Yeah, I very much appear to be going through an unpremeditated 'acoustic phase' of late (or maybe even 'finding a (my?) sound. Who knows?) The last two songs I have posted up on here (namely: 'Final Cigarette' & 'Serenade') were originally more electrified to begin with but the acoustic additions gradually replaced the electric parts as the recording sessions evolved. As for the cello & contrabass ... I'm rather new to these instruments and I really am just 'winging it'! I'm not remotely proficient on either instrument and just keep playing util I find something that works.

That said, I've been winging it musically all my life! I'm completely self-taught really. When I was about 14 a guy at the local youth club spent 20 mins showing me three cowboy chords and that was that ... that was all I needed to know - I was hooked! In a way I still feel like that 14 year old kid (and haven't really progressed that much musically either - jack of all trades/master of none I feel! Music still fills me with wonder I just hat all the Music Biz side of things ....
