Here's a Dickey Betts-penned latter-day Allman Brothers tune from a month back or so. Seeking out the original is more than worthwhile as the first guitar solo by Warren Haynes is a jaw dropper.

I am still finding the time to mix the tunes from the same practice session as the four other band posts. I think this was our third take from the first night we tried this. There is a funky outro with some double stops, but that would've been train-wreck territory for our first outing (I'm still making up my mind whether I like that outro anyway). BrettBob will be quickly able to tell where we cut a few corners. It should be noted that he posted a very cool stripped-down version a month or two back.

I really dig the playing of Forrest, the new bassist I met through the local Craigslist. It is so nice to play with this rhythm section as well as with Lurker on vocals and EWC on second guitar.

Could stand a remix, and I'd like to excise a few of my off-kilter guitar fills, but I'm off to get ready for a field trip of 250 middle-schoolers tomorrow.

Peace.

Back Where It All Begins

Say you want to be a rollin' stone
Get your sail out in the wind
Get out on the highway
And just let it roll on
Roll on back to someplace you ain't never been

When I was younger I was hard to hold
Seem like I's always goin'
Whichever way the wind was blows
Now that travelin' feelin' calls me again
Callin' me back to where it all begins

Moon rise and sun go down
Turn my whole world around
Little star up in the sky
Tell my sweet baby please don't cry
Please don't cry

Travel out across the burnin' sand
Across the ocean to some distant land
When we reach the end we'll all be singin'
And we'll all be friends
Back where it all begins

Love it. The full band sounds super tight and full. The tune is light and powerful, which can be tough to pull off, but you guys nailed it.

Wow.  This really has captured (or released...?) a very authentic sounding Allman Brothers/Southern Rock atmosphere!  Guitars, bass, drums, vocals... each fantastic individually, working together and playing tight.
Fine job, you guys!   :)

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.
