Tim sent me the 2nd take of the vocals today, and here is the preliminary final mix.
I would've liked the drums to be just a bit softer but since I don't have the original tracks and the bass needed a boost, it's a bit of a compromise, but one I can live with if you can.

Wow Greeny this was great you caught the mood to perfection!! I am very impressed. I just can't get over how you turn those lyrics out of your head and so wonderful. I didn't realize it was a cove either when I listened the first time I thought you did it. Either way it was great.

Saijinn sent me the raw tracks of his first version.
To this, I added a drum part, largely based on Ballad1 patterns with a few modifications.
I added compression to the bass (you gotta FEEL the bass when you're slowdancing).
Added Chorus to the melody guitar to separate it from the vox.
Lots of minor EQ/REV tweaks.
Remixed with Greeny's vox and my synths and remastered the whole lot.
This is the result.
