Saving 'SCENES' & 'FADER' settings on a BR1600??

Super 8

Although I've been using a BR1600CD to record for some time now, I admit I've never really gotten my head around the 'Scene' & 'Fader' saving function and must now reach out in the hope that someone may shed some light on this in order that the proverbial penny may eventually drop for me this end! (Please imagine you're explaining the process in a step-by-step way to a not-so-bright 4 year old and, who knows, I just MIGHT get it!)

As things currently stand, I definitely feel I may be missing out on an important, nifty feature although, having tried on occasion to fathom it, I STILL don't get it. For example, when I have gone back to remix a previously backed up song project, I've effectively had to start the entire mix again from the ground up = a pain in the asp! It would be good to know how to recall a song and be right back to exactly where I was at the mixdown stage of my initial first mix then be able to tweak from there (ie: for the effect settings; fader level settings; etc. to have been stored & remembered on recall).

So ... any insights folks? I've read the manual section on this area a few times now but to no avail. For some reason it's not clicking and has seemingly become a bit of a stumbling block for me! I feel this feature would be a handy thing to know.

Did you ever figure this out?  Did you set markers in your song? Each scene is a "point in time" and if, for example, you want the faders to slowly increase volume of certain tracks you will have to figure out where you want the transitions and put a mark in each one of those spots in the timeline. You get 100 markers per song but you'll need to plan carefully if you like gradual increases and decreases.

If you are still interested I could give some step by steps the next time I swing through the forum.

In a fashion Eric (the other one!) Thanks for your reply. I haven't done 'the marker thing' you suggest but I have figured out how to do the basic scene save & recall so that my levels (and panning & any applied mix FX) are statically recalled when I re-visit a song project (as opposed to having to start an entire mix from scratch as I was having to do pre-learning this feature!) CHEERS! ;)

Good going. The BR1600 sometimes has a sharp learning curve but once you figure it out it isn't really that difficult after all  ;D
