This is a tribute song to Chuck Berry that Bill Thompson and I wrote. Chuck had a huge influence on many guitar players, including me. So I pulled out all the Berry-ism guitar licks I could conjure up and jammed away. I used a Fender Jaguar with P90 pickups and a vintage Fender Deluxe Reverb amp. I wanted that clean Chuck Berry tone until the outro solo when I kicked in a Joyo ACtone O.D. pedal and played some of my own style while still honoring Mr. Berry. I mic'ed the amp with a vintage dynamic AKG D1000 which is similar to a Shure SM57.

Bill wrote the lyric and sang the lead vocal.

Farrell Jackson - guitars, bass, Zoom drums, and backing vocals.

Chuck Berry Tribute – Lyrics by Bill Thompson

Go Chuck Berry Go

Chuck Berry from St. Louie, came up with a new way to thrill
Found a new kinda music, while coming up in the Ville.

A "Handsome Brown-eyed Man", rockin' at Berry's Band Stand
'Hear that sound he's a makin'?', it'll take us to the "Promised Land".
They call it "Rock 'n Roll Music", from the devil and in great demand.

"Roll Over Beethoven", like nothin' you heard before.
Did "30 Days" or more, once for hangin' with a Mexican Ho
Said, blame "My Ding-A- Ling", had "No Particular Place to Go".

Chuck Berry from St. Louie, came up with a new way to thrill.
Found a new kinda music coming up in the Ville.
Showed those white boys how to play it, couldn't stop 'em and they never will.

Guitar Break

Couldn't reach Marie in "Memphis" Tennesee, lookin' for romance
Then promised "Little Queenie" and "Carol", that he'd learn to dance.
Showed Jagger how to swagger and Johnny Rivers when to take a chance.

Chuck Berry from St. Louie, came up with a new way thrill
Found a new kinda music, while comin' up in the Ville.
Showed those white boys how to play it, couldn't stop 'em and they never will.

Go Chuck Berry, 4 times

Showed those white boys how to play it, couldn't stop 'em and they never will.
