Here is my newest arrival...

So I got interested in the Harley Bentons after reading some of Johnny's super reviews and after a couple of weeks of that "feeling" that most of us are aware of, I caved in. I did promise to get rid of one of my 2 mexican strats to my wife, but funnily enough after I got the Harley I haven't been able to bring myself to remind her of this part of the bargain!!! Shame on me - how gear lust can twist your soul ;D ;D ;D... I'll wait and see if she remembers, but maybe deep down she knows how painful this part is!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Anyway, I haven't really played it much yet, but have to say it does play great so far. It really is a looker though!!

One minor gripe though and it is minor I think. The frets don't seem to have been polished / finished properly to me as they were well scratchy when I did some string bends. So pretty audible (unplugged) and a bit grating to the feel when bending notes. It does seem to be dissapating the more I play, so pretty sure its down to being a brand new unplayed instrument, but a tad dissapointed they weren't polished better. Having said that I think after another week or 2 of playing that will be pretty much gone and for the money overall I think its a belter!!

Here are a couple of pics...

Stunning guitar, Mike! I guess your rough frets must have slipped through the quality control. Easy solution, though... mask off the fretboard with some masking tape & give your frets a polish with some Brasso :)

Congrats Mike! Now, I'm a bit jealousy too, because it is left-handed :)

Looks fine!

Nice guitar, Mike, very much like my HB.  Johnny should be on commission.

I had / have the same thing exactly, have to say it hasn't diminished.  I'll try that Brasso thing though, next time I get round to changing strings.

Might do the same some day. Might even purchase some of that 0000 steel wool i have seen people talk about on the web and just give a little rub on each fret with that first - or very fine sand paper. I think if you do it carefully with the same amount of strokes on each fret should be ok? and then the brasso...
