Oh well ........

ok every family has a black sheep....well i guess its me.
i have a very strong political view. the police of this country do a job most of us would not undertake..hey someone gets a toothache sometime in their life.
their kids are pissing them off.....wife nagging. things happen.
i have been on a pickett line and have witnessed what the SPG have done.

just give a thought ....what if we did not have a police force.
just give a thougt.......someone has nicked your guitar.

life is not perfect...it never will be

if this site wants to get political.......foof
excuse the spellin'
and if the sun should fail to rise against my
shoulders one last time...

ORH, is that really you doing all the voiceover bits? It really doesn't sound like you at all! Very convinicng indeed.

Great stuff, strong guitar & bass combo and a very different type of song. More originality and inventiveness.

Something I've been meaning to ask - what do you use for drums? I'm assuming it's not all onboard MBR...

Cheers,

Nigel

The lyrics to this song demand comments to represent their political nature.

The majority of coppers do a fantastic job.

But it only takes a couple to spoil it for the rest!

Only speaking from experience, and wouldn't comment otherwise:-

You get them in every profession.....

But the odd one in the police force is a dangerous commodity!

Great power, with great responsibility and all that......

It takes a second for the minority to commit an act that will screw things up forever for the upstanding majority!

Police are Brilliant.....

But With this said the Police force has a duty of care to the public.

Allowing the odd one in the pack needs to be a prevented, and the organisation should not misrepresent events in order to avoid blame or litigation........

The song aint about 9/11......

No Need for that kind of talk.......

Don't like what you are trying to imply to be honest.....

Music is about freedom of expression....

Will PM you...

It's all BR rhythms on this one. We've done a couple of tracks recently with imported drum tracks, but this one (and a good 90% of my solo stuff) is done on the BR. The thing I've learned is to try all sorts of different combinations of pattern and fill, and I've had a lot of joy with using some of the 'intro' patterns because they add a bit of interest and variation in some cases.

Well... where do I start  ???

This song is a satirical look at the few thugs who have sadly undermined the reputation of the force - and in particular, the Metropolitan police here in London. The ones who removed their numbers are being suspended / investigated, so even the police themselves take a dim view of this kind of behaviour. Unfortunately, their reputation was already 'shot' after that poor Brazilian electrician fell victim to a chain of incompetence.

It's also a look at the contrast between the old British 'bobbies' of yesteryear and the state of the world today.

I don't know why 9/11 got raised - this isn't an anti-american song or an anti-British song, or even an anti-war song (although my brother has been fighting a certain war for 18 months out of the last 3 years, so it's a subject pretty close to home).

And of course, the police have a duty to defend and protect people. But you can't defend the mindless few who see protests as an opportunity for some 'hippy bashing' (as one suspended police officer stupidly quoted on his facebook page...).

I don't know why I'm even justifying this....  ???

Here's a picture of a police medic for you....
