Here's a new Jemima's Kite song.

It needs some explanation...

We haven't seen much political content on here (which is probably for the best...), but I felt compelled to write this lyric after seeing how the G20 demonstrators were dealt with by the Police here in London. There's enough material to write a whole essay, but for starters, riot police were removing their ID numbers so they couldn't be identified by camera. One of the ones who did this was subsequently filmed giving the baton to a guy who wasn't a demonstrator, but just happened to be working in that area at the time. The guy then died of internal bleeding. That's bad enough, but it only came to light after the police had lied to the media, saying that the guy had 'had a heart attack', and died because demonstrators stopped him getting medical assistance. Funnily enough, photographing or videoing police is a crime in this country – just in case you catch them out like this I guess. I could go on, but I won't.

The title is a play on words from an old fashioned and warm-hearted / cosy British police show called 'Dixon of Dock Green' - the sample at the start is from that.

Anyway, this is me on guitars and vocals, Flash Harry on bass, and oldrottenhead on production wizardry, samples, and some expert character acting  :D

It's not our intention to cause offence to anyone with this. If we have, I apologise. Normal service will be resumed shortly...  :)

Bro

I'm not gonna talk politics, but it was a great song.

You and Flash Harry really do some great collabs!

Awesome, like the guitars!!
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

Don't forget oldrottenhead!!!! He gave this song a special spark with his vocal and lyrical additions - and the Dixon of Dock Green twist was a brilliant idea!

Well Done.....Underneath the satire a cracking rocker is lurking...I loved the monologue at the end but would have maybe put Old Dixon at the beginning before the song......

Be careful, Greeny - "They" are listening to you right now!!  :o :P

Can't believe it's against the law to film a police officer - WTF???

Anyway, I liked the song - You guys rock!

Peace,

Mark

Nope! It's staying as it is!

Greeny, the preemptive apology is unnecessary.  If any music on this forum offends me, there's a pause button and plenty of links to take me to other pages.

This song, however, is great.

Everybody did a great job on this song/statement!  This is a rocker and definitely fits the tone, mood, & situation.  I can picture this riot/demonstration happening before my eyes...
