Some of my favourite singers have covered this great song but the best version is by Townes himself.

Here is my attempt.  It could be a late contribution to the Americana fest.

I'm not familiar with this song, but your recording has real impact and emotion - just guitar and a vocal - well done....mmmm, may have to cover this one myself...

Great stuff Ian, I'm a big fan of Townes.
Very nice version. No need at all for superfluous accoutrement on this one.
It sounds warm and natural just your vocal and guitar.

I am more familiar with songs by him covered by other artists such as yourself. I really need to delve into him. The starkness of this put the lyrics and vocals front and center, and I think that's what called for here. Really nice delivery.
