I was putting the drum track together for a new song and I found I always came away singing Whatever you Want.  Then I realised no one had done a Rick Parfitt / Status Quo song for the Lost in 2016 fest.  So I switched lanes and made it into this.

I only saw the quo once - it was on the day we moved into our house in 2001.  Busy day.  They were always around though.  Although I've never actually owned any of their records, funnily enough.

It's a fairly straightforward arrangement, and no actual instruments were harmed in the making.  I went up to the pond lunchtime to do the vocal and was heaving up there. It was a nice sunny near-Spring day and much better than yesterday's storm Doris. Got it done anyway.

Good cover Nick - enjoyed that. Glad to see that someone has done a tribute to Rick !

Shame this Fest is nearly over as I wanted to do a few songs but getting very little time to myself at the moment.

Always a bold thing to to when you change a song as dramatically as you've done with this one. But, my, oh my...it works superbly! You've made this your own. I love the slight "sneer" in your voice which just adds a slight "punkiness" to the proceedings. Lovely piano solo, by the way :)

This is bloody impressive. The jauntiness of this production is so spot on. Really something to be proud of. Never really listened to the band much, but this makes me want to check them out.
