got my woolies strat out and irighd2 to use my ipad as a stompbox.

this one is a three chorder, mostly a two chorder tho. i think reading Keith Richards' autobiography and listening to lots of the stones recently may have had an impact on me?

drums where done with drum jam on my ipad.  i recorded drums to a stereo track on my br800, then two separate woolies strat tracks, then added some bass.
i then recorded a lead vocal and two backing vocals using my microbr as a mic.
for lyrics i had a verse from  a song that wasn't happening, then found it fitted this one, so wrote the song around the lyric i had from dumped song.

i have no idea what it's about, it is deliberately very vague and open to interpretation, it is what it is.

just close your eyes
just turn away
i don't want you to see me
no not this way
there will be a reckoning
a price to pay
too high for some
too much too late
oh be still child
behold this world
it's all you got
so hold it tight
the damage done
oblivion
we carry on
and on
no more pain etc
and as i sing
the words i find
they mean so much
i don't know why
or how it is
that something good
can just decay
and die
so hold my hand
and don't let go
i'm here for you
i'm here for you
no more pain
now go to sleep
my darling child
there's no more pain
No More Pain

I like the floaty quality this tune has. Took me somewhere.

It wouldn't play more than 2 seconds the first few times I tried earlier today. Think my network connection was acting up? Glad I came back.

I dig the sound of your guitars through the new setup, vocals sound great, and I also like the vague lyrics. Everything sounds nice and clear, too.

Killer track, James!!!

The harmonies sound very good here!

I have drum jam on my iPhone, but there's only latin/indian stuff etc.. Have you purchased rock kits from App Store?

when I first got drum jam, I purchased a couple of extras to use up credit on a prepaid iTunes voucher. I can't for the life of me recall which add ON's i purchased, perhaps a rock and funk kit. Tho I think I did have some rock and funk kits with initial purchase. Drum jam does tend to be very heavy with ethnic sounds and patters. But what I do is replace the ethnic instruments from preset patterns with more traditional rock and pop drums and experiment endlessly to create my own loops and patterns. And also hit a few other kits whilst loops are playing.

Very floaty. Reminds me of early Gilmour solo stuff, its the chorusey guitar sounds and the general ambiance. Very cool.

Back for another listen. As for the two second thing, I now have to switch to the html drive before I play any song on Songcrafters. It used to irk me, but now it's second nature.

Direct to piPod. That guitar sound could be Andy Summers.
