An unexpected windfall

Sadly, my mother passed away nearly 10 years ago. She pleaded poverty until the day she died... never had enough money to spend on luxuries, apparently. We helped out as much as we could & paid for her and her "gentleman friend" to go on vacation a couple of times as well as treating her to meals out. We used to order her groceries for her online and tell her the bill came to £30 when it was usually nearer £50 (she was a stubborn, proud old bugger who would have been appalled at accepting "charity" as she would have thought of it).

Anyway... Today I received a letter from the Halifax bank informing me that they had some funds that had been sat in her dormant account since she passed away. All I had to do was go to my local branch with ID and the letter they'd sent me and they would give me the money there and then. Thinking I might get enough to treat the wife to a nice meal, I went along this morning when they opened and was staggered to find there was over £1000 waiting for me!

Most of it is getting spent on bills, but Mrs. Robbo insisted that I treat myself to something to remember my mother. Needless to say, there's another guitar on it's way!

Another Harley Benton. Here's the details: https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_bentonhbt1500tbk_egitarre.htm

I'll be doing a video review of it when it arrives & doubtless it's going to end up on plenty of recordings. Watch this space!

It really is beautiful Johnny. I am pleased for you.

You have put me in mind of purchasing a Harley Benton some day (I think the Les Paul maybe) as the sounds you have gotten from it are superb. Looking forward to hearing this one too!!

That does look nice John, and a nice way to remember your mum.

My bass is called Bertie for a similar reason.

Great news John. Very sleek looking guitar even the wood grain under the finish looks really nice from what I can see.
