In my experience LANDR always makes a mix sound worse. Really, always. And that's quite understandable as a robot cannot master a mix. It does not understand the dynamics, the emotional aspects and the specific arrangement of a song. It can only apply an average approach with respect to EQ and compression, based on typical genre fingerprints.

I'd rather not master a mix at all than have it mastered by a robot. :)

Very cool song Ian, I dig the progression and form...very CH. I'm a suckered for melodica, so you got me there. I think the mastering sounds good. I've never used Landr but a few other members have found it beneficial. I like my pre-sets so I don't see much difference but again I haven't tried the service. We'll done.
Rock on!

Thanks for the info of recording! This encouraging me to make a recording on similar way (BR-80=>Audacity). Very warm sounding song! Well done!

You should have the software for Sonar in the box the BR80 came in. It is not hard to set up and easy to use for basic mixing and editing. If you want to go further, then Sonar is deeper than Audacity.

I think it was Sonar LE which came in with br-80. Did you use LE version here?

I was curious about the 3 mic setup as well. Since the 57 and 58 have the same capsule, did you use one behind the cabinet or farther away?

Cool tune. There's a lot going on, but it does sound very cohesive.

They are both in front pointing at different speakers. I was going to experiment with mixing them using the mid/side technique but Inever got around to doing it properly on this song. I have done it on others and it helps to give the song more width. I'm still learning.
