March 1949, The Cameo picturehouse in Liverpool was robbed although they didn't get away with any money 2 men, The Manager and his assistant were shot dead,
George Kelly and Charles Connolly were charged with Murder, Kelly was hung and Connolly got 10 years they reckon Kelly did the shooting and Connolly set the whole thing up, Both men always pleaded innocent.
In the mid 60s I worked with Charles Connolly for a while he always said he didn't do it, but as the saying goes evryone in prison is innocent, Charlie died in1997, in 2002 evidence came to light and they were cleared of Murder, Kellys remains were removed from Walton prison and put into a family grave,
You can see the whole story in Wiki, under The Cameo Murders Liverpool.

Man,  not only a Murder Ballad but an original one based on a true story. Excellent tune my brother, fine example of what is so great about these Fests.
Rock on!

Because the Hook brings you back
I ain't tellin' you no lie
The hook brings you back

Great storytelling in the lyrics of this song, and a nice crisp arrangement and vocals - and a great observation about Murder Ballads, Hook.

Nice one, Alex!

What an interesting story and a good song as well.
Your vocal on this is crystal clear and sits great in the mix.
An excellent song with an educational story as well, doesn't get any better for crime fest.
Well done.

Yeah a lovely quirky song. I love the slightly uplifting feel of the song which gives a great uneasy feeling to the story behind the lyrics. Very well sung. Good stuff Alex.

Great story telling, Alex. An interesting tale, even more so since it's true. As Mach said... a nice mix too. Bravo, mate!
