Somehow I missed commenting on this before. Loved the spare approach, James - which along with your vocal gives it a very direct quality.

I've heard this song for years, but never really listened to it until now.  This version is so personal, so heartfelt.  As I listened to it for the first time, the vocal expression and phrasing wended its way deeper and deeper.  I had no choice but to listen closely.  If I ever do a cover of this song, I will refer to this version over the original.  I went back and listened to the original, and it doesn't do it for me like this version does.  I know that it seems that I'm laying it on kind of thick, but I really mean it.
