Ok, here's a little cover of the Steppenwolf classic The Pusher. I kinda like it.
This version is probably a little closer in style to the original Hoyt Axton version but it keeps the jangling blues type chords of the Steppenwolf version.
I'd like to get some feedback from some of you guys on the harmonised solo in the outro, I had a bit of a tough time with that one. Listening back to it, I don't know if I really like it or really hate it. It's definitely a bit sloppy. I'm not sure whether I should scrap it and redo it or let it slide and see if it grows on me.

Anyway, check it out guys and see what you think.

Sounds really good, I'm not familiar with the song (I was expecting Curtis Mayfield's "Pusherman" for some reason). I really dig the guitar harmonies, it's my favorite part, but then I'm a big Allman Brothers fan, so I'm all about that. I actually think it could use more of those kinds of fills throughout the rest of the song, would help breakup the groove here and there.

Great stuff, dude.

Thanks Brettbob,
I know exactly what you mean in getting some more fills throughout the song.
I'm planning on getting a harp player I do a few gigs with to come in an lay down some harmonica over those spaces between the verses.
After reading your comment though, I definitely think that I should throw around a few more of those harmonised guitar parts. I kind of added those last ones as a bit of a throw away thing on the outro after I'd already done the initial guitar solos.
Stay tuned as I'll probably post an updated version in a few days.

Holy skamoley, this was good.

Your own stamp on it, but such great tones and production. Killer. Just the slinkiest solo. Nicely done.

Logged on especially to listen to this as it's one of my favourites and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Great cover and well worth the trouble taken with the harmony guitar work. Excellent.      Willie
