Complete Novice here......push button knob in a touch screen world.....

I have up to 1,000 to spend on a new laptop.
I have a Boss BR-80 as a multi-track recorder and interface and
intend on downloading Cakewalk / Sonar as recording software.
Does anyone have any recommendations on a Laptop?
I have looked online at Asus RogGL552vw- 8GB and Acer Aspire V17
and really like the new Lenovo Y700 a gaming laptop
The advantage with the Lenovo is the sound system on board and the graphics card
as the machine will not be totally dedicated to the music recording.
Disadvantage is the Asus and Lenovo are a little over budget.
Maybe I am looking for more machine then is required

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers

Brian

Oldrottenhead

I bought an old reconditioned Lenovo t410 thinkpad to use with my br800.  It all works great but I tend to do everything  on my br800 only using laptop to edit and name files etc. I have only briefly used the br80 ( a friends) and would probably be more likely to use that model as an interface with a daw on my laptop, more so than I do with my br800. That said specs wise get a laptop with good processor and lots of ram memory and let br80 take care of soundcard duties.
