Hi my friends, it has been way too long since I have posted up a song, and I am excited at where this one will go I think. I have been playing with some covers from my youth as an 80's metalhead. I have a Judas Priest cover (BIG TIME Priest fan here) I have been working on with Kody's help that is nearly done (not this song), and Chromedragon #9 is also nearly done. I also have a couple other covers from different other 80's bands that are planned. Though I have been searching for backing tracks with vocals they are VERY hard to find it seems. I stumbled across this backer last night... I found it on a guitar site where people had posted a few backers for other guitarists to use. Not a song I had intended in any regard, but after I heard this guys vox I just had to have a go. I have only been playing with this for an hour or two tonight (I never learned or played this song before), but I'm getting the feeling it's gonna be good when done. I have just figured out the verse and chorus sections, and it needs a LOT of tweaking... quite a few mistakes, it all of course has to be redone, the harmony guitar parts figured out, the fills, and of course the solo figured out and gotten up to speed. Still, I kinda want you guys to hear this guy.

Quite a few of you have asked about vocals on the CD songs, and I am trying to contact him to see if he'd be interested in trying them. I did see in his posts that he has also written lyrics so I'm hopeful, though he hasn't logged into the site for over a month with no other contact info so we'll see. (Anyone who can go to a high scream like Rob Halford and stay in pitch catches my interest ). You'll hear the bridge part hit and the guitars stop (because I gave up for the night before trying to learn that part), but I carried the track a bit further with just the backer and his vox so you can hear some of the higher parts.

Again guys this is raw, short, and has MUCH to go but I'm so stoked about it and just  had to post it up. These older songs bring up so many memories for me, and hopefully this taste will give some of you older JP fans a little trip to memory lane.

Pretty amazing vocalist. Would love to hear him on some of the Chromedragon stuff, I hope that comes off. This is sounding great, you get a great heavy guitar sound (I'm not a JP fan so don't know how close this is to them) so keep going and post the whole thing when it's done. And you know I can't wait to hear the one you're working on with Kody!

Cheers,

That's gonna work out good, DS. Really like the rhythm sound - authentic as hell. What did you use for a pedal?

Cool rendition - I use to play some JP in a previous life (breakin the law & headin out to the highway, Livin after midnight).  I don't think we covered this one.  I'd like to hear more - like the solo part!  Great guitar tone!  ...and that singer can scream!
