THAT's a Christmas song.

Good writing, good performance.

Thank you.

Thanks! Yeah, simple (& catchy!) was the idea for this one. I wrtote the full song off the back of a 40 second radio jingle I put together for a UK-based radio station (it's currently getting airplay over this festive period). Prior to me writing said jingle I 'did my homework' as it were. By this I mean: I spent some time listening to & analysing popular Xmas songs as to exactly what it is that makes them popular & came to the following conclusions:

- A Chrimbo song needs to have 'a message'
- That message needs to be repeated (regularly!) throughout the song
- In general the lyrics need to be ideally: simple & universal; memorable; sing-along catchy & snappy! You've got to play up the 'hook'.

So yeah, I came up with the jingle first but it wouldn't leave me alone I guess! Once the jingle was 'out there' I went back to working up my album (I'm hoping to release a self-penned LP in the new year) but my subconscious had other plans it seems ie: unfinished festive monkey business! The full song version came together REALLY quickly (I guess I'd done all the ground work for the jingle so it was merely a case of fleshing it out in order to turn it into 'a song proper' - I had the whole thing recorded and 'in the can' in one six hour session.

Right! On with this flippin' album now .....

HAPPY CHRISTMAS (oh, and 'Goodwill To All Men/Peace On Earth!') Have a good un folks!
