Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers had been covering an old Blind Willie McTell tune, "Blues 'Round Midnight" back in the early 1990s. Well, or so he thought. Apparently he remembered it wrong. So here is a cover of Dickey Betts' take on Blind Willie McTell's "Blues 'Round Midnight", which he renamed, "Midnight Blues".

Instrumentation:
tricone | acoustic | cigar box biscuit | piano | bass

I like the laid back swampy feel. The tricone sounds nice & warm. Nice Blues.

Oh yeah I'm back again. I am liking this better on these listens. The Cigar box with the biscuit cone sounds pretty cool too. A more trebley tone almost like a '1 string sound.' Do you have a pic of the cigar guitar? I was looking at some pics online and this came up and I thought that was the coolest little special built one I've ever saw. No cone but still cool. Just great playing on all the instruments here BrettBob.

Ha, thanks Mach! I've seen those single string cigar boxes, they are pretty cool.

The Cigar Box I played on this is pretty unique, it's made by Daddy Mojo Guitars out of Montreal - I came across it and had to have it. Since it's smaller scale biscuit, it's both punchy and trebly - almost like a banjo at times - but can sound really sweet when it resonates.

Killer guitar man, that is one seriously sexy piece of wood.
I would love to get me something like that.
