John should be the one posting this as it was his baby, but oh well... I think he had the majority of this tune (all the lyrics and a musical direction?) when it was recorded at AlachuaMet about a year ago. Hook and I could've contributed music, but I just don't recall. Maybe they could chime in.

John always wanted to do a proper recording of it, so here is our effort. Brings back memories of hanging with Hook. Looking forward to FloridaMet 2016. The guitar is that Bedell I got a year or so back. I dig the way it records.

Take care, all.

Roads that I Have Traveled

There are roads that I have traveled
That were better left unexplored
There were times I should have been sated
When I went back for more
There were lips I should have kissed
And others I should've ignored
But had I never boarded that boat
I'd never have washed up on these shores

Had I spent my life waiting
I'd never come to find
All the world's within my grasp
If I just make up my mind
And the multitude of people
Some are cruel and some are blind
But it's me who makes the choices
By which I am defined

This is my life; I get to live it
Can't forget the past; remember to forgive it
When I'm moving it's easier to meet what's coming
The hardest part's to rise above it

I've complained about my lot
I've been thankful for my share
Of the joys in their abundance
And the pains that I've been spared
It's too easy to lose focus
Too easy to compare
My life with those of others
And forget the clothes I wear

When life comes, I've got to live it
Don't forget the past; remember to forgive it
When I'm moving it's easier to meet what's coming
The hardest part's to rise above it

This is my life; I get to live it
Can't forget the past; remember to forgive it
When I'm moving it's easier to meet what's coming
The hardest part's to rise above it

Dudes, great job on this. It sounds spectacular, that guitar is so warm and full, is it mic'd or straight in? Nice vocals & harmonies Lurker, any word yet on Dec?
This just makes me happy guys! If I remember correctly, Lurker had the lyrics, melody and an idea of the chords. You and i just kinda expanded and completed the rythm to go with his melody...I think.
Rock on!

Wow.  Absolutely stunning in every way.  And a fine song as well.  The guitar sounds wonderful and the vocs are sublime.

I'm a bit of a fan, you know.

ah yeah!

I really like the force that the harmonies hit you. Rather fine all round. The recording (and playing obvs) of the guitar is spectacular.
