Interesting New Slide Idea...

I don't really play a lot of slide, but i didn't know about these and thought they looked interesting. Seem to allow both fretting notes normally and using the slide with the same finger.

Came across slides like this a while back, not tried one, though, I must admit...

It do look interesting, and he definitely seems to make it work for him. I'm not convinced for myself, though. Mainly because I'm happiest with the slide on the little finger... originally so that I could fret with the other three fingers.

I'm so used to playing slide and fingering like that on standard or open tunings, that learning to juggle a loose slide on the "wrong" finger would seem a lot of effort for no reason (it did look like he was still a little unsure of the looseness - but, like he said, he'd only been using it for a bit)

I do use the ring finger a little bit at the moment, but that's cos I've got hold of some "Coricidin bottle" copies and Duane used his on the ring finger. A sweaty glass pill bottle, ring finger, and a Les Paul... woo... instant Duane noises .

But if I was starting out on slide - I'd be buying one of these for certain. You need to try everything til you find what works for you (I've got loads of failed slide options in various shoe boxes and wotnot - every now and then I get them out and try them again... they all sound/feel different, and you never know, the one rejected 30 years ago might be the very thing now!  )
