Thanks Hilary. I agree that a dirtier vocal would be better, but I struggle just to get the notes, and I think much more is beyond me. If someone else is interested I'm very happy to post the backing without the vocal ... yes? Please?
Dueling BR1600s. Beats banjos.

I think you are overthinking it when you are singing it. It just needs to have more bounce in the phrasing and sing it like you'd speak it.

It reminds me of 10cc's Dreadlock Holiday - have a listen to their phrasing.

I love the a-ahs on America btw.

Really enjoyed it... has a certain quirkyness that I really like. Reminds me a little of The Police and maybe even Prefab Sprout on the intro but you have your own unique sound which is commendable.

This is a really great track, and your instrumentation on it is fabulous.
I like the lyrics as well, very interesting.
The percussion does a great job in creating those twists and turns in the dings direction and the recording is spot on.
I always hear a flavor of Nico from the velvet underground in your vocal.
It has a unique tone.
Nice one.

I can only imagine the amount of work involved in producing this gem, I'm a day and a half man beginning to end and that's when I'm dawdling. Great subject matter which deserved the time spent. I love it.    Willie
