Satin Rose - a Kayla and Maddie update

It's been a while since I was on here and has also been a while since we recorded anything worth posting but thought that some of you who have been following their progression since the start might be interested to see how they've come along. It hard to believe that it's been nearly 8 years when I posted some snippets of Kayla playing back when she was still 8 years old.

The girls are now 16 and 13 and really impress at every gig. People can't believe their age when they play and the comments of "they're good for their age" have changed to just being "wow...they're good". They keep improving with every gig and are now getting offered enough gigs that we have to knock some back.

We did a little recording yesterday at the Club i manage with the footage recorded on a couple of basic digicams while i recorded the audio completely live with a single AT2020 condensor mic going into Reaper. Normally I play live with the girls but it was easier to just record them live and then lay down the bass tracks at home. I think I need to drop the bass track level a little...... you can tell that the bass player did the mix.  

Kayla's voice is really starting to mature and Maddie has been doing harmonies for about a year now. While her voice hasn't matured like Kayla's yet she can pretty much hear a note and hit a harmony a 3rd or 5th above or below without thinking.
