a few weeks back in another thread Blooby asked if i could leave space in a future project for him to add some lead guitar. so with that in mind, i promptly got out my ipad and worked out a chord progession/riff on it using the garageband virtual guitars.

i then dumped the virtual guitars but kept the drum track i created on the ipad and transferred that to my br800 and recorded two rhythm guitar tracks, then recorded a vocal, with a bridge for Blooby to add some lead guitar and any other additions he wanted to add.

This morning i received a mix with his additions of lead guitar and bass guitar.

my intention was to get blooby to send his individual tracks to me, then i would redo the lead vocal, add some backing vocals and fill the song out with some keys from my juno di.

however i have since developed a cold and sore throat, so for now scrapped that idea as my voice is fecked.

so i transferred the mix blooby sent to me to my br800 and added some keys from the juno di.

hopefully when my voice comes back i can redo this as intended but for now i am very happy as to how it turned out.

cheers Blooby.

update 10/10/2017: have replaced original file with a new mix, blooby sent his parts and i redid vocal and stuff.

He couldn't tell you anyway
Cos all his dreams just slip away
Until they're only memories
Of something that could never be
In past or future present tense
He doesn't have the common sense
To break free from incompetence
And try to start over  again
And break free
break free
It held him tight
And dragged him down
Ain't no way out
He carried on
Oblivious
Without a doubt
Nowhere to turn
Nowhere to run
But the eye of the storm
Maybe there's a memory
Of how things are supposed to be
A trace of common decency
Not just dog eat dog
Maybe just a little love
Even just a gentle hug
A hand to hold a face to touch
A mouth to kiss
Is that too much
To ask to ask
It held him tight
And dragged him down
Ain't no way out
He carried on
Oblivious
Without a doubt
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to turn
But the eye of the storm
He couldn't tell you anyway
Cos all his dreams just slip away
Until they're only memories
Of something that could never be
In past or future present tense
He doesn't have the common sense
To break free from incompetence
And try to start over  again
And break free

Excellent collab, gents! I love the chilled out acoustic feel of this which suits your low key vocal really well. Those couple of twists you put into the chord progression are masterful! Then the contrast when the lead guitar part kicks in is just gorgeous. Superb stuff, chaps!
