This is a track which appeared on the John Mayall's Bluesbreakers album "A Hard Road" (featuring Peter Green) which came out in '67. I actually prefer this album to the previous & more famous "Beano" album featuring Eric Clapton.

Gary Moore did a version of it, also, about 20 years ago & my take is a little more based on his than Peter Green's.

All the usual suspects... HB Les Paul (lead)/tele (rhythm guitar)/Cakewalk drums/Organised VST/No-name bass & Tonelab.

Getting those long notes to sustain was quite a struggle. In the end I just cranked the volume on the monitors & tried holding the note as I wandered around in front of the speakers. I had to put bits of gaffa tape on the floor to mark the spot I needed to stand for each different note. Even then it didn't work every time! What you hear here are 3 takes spliced together with the best sustain I could get on each of the crucial "long" notes.

Cheers,

John.

After listening back to this this morning, I decided to re-mix it. I've replaced the whole rhythm guitar track, messed with the drums a little & re-done the ending.

Funny you should mention it, Alex... I already sent them my video review, that I posted last year, of this guitar. I wanted to see if they had any freelance work as a demonstrator. No joy, I'm afraid  :(
