Had me hooked from the beginning. Funky Bass always gets me bopping. Horns, killer guitar smoothness, drum, and especially that Bass all sits nicely in one very Groovaious tune. What kind of Bass are you playing? Awesome tone!

Funky indeed.  Very nice groove you've created.  In fact, going back for another listen.

Yeah, that's cool.  Love the way the bass sounds.  And the drums sound good.  Is that samples?  If so, from where do they come.

Anyway,  real good instrumental you've got here.  Fine performance and excellent recording.
Let it be known, there is a fountain, that was not made, by the hands of men.

Funky fun times!

You've got a great groove going here. The instrumentation is excellent. Great bass sound, complementary guitar, and the drums and brass fill out the sound stage very nicely indeed. Not forgetting the keys rotating away in my left ear.

Really enjoyable to listen to, and will be really enjoyable to listen to again (and again).
Dueling BR1600s. Beats banjos.

That's the Sterling by MusicMan Stingray bass - it has active pickups, so a wide range of lovely tones. The chap in the shop reckoned is sounded and played almost identically to a 'real' MM stingray at a fraction of the price :-) All played through the Kemper (bass and guitar)

No quite samples - these are drum loops taken from a real drummer recorded in a pro studio, cut into short loops. You can then plug them together a few bars at a time into the track. I normally record over one repeating loop, and then put the fill loops in and change the patturns as one of the last things. The company producing these loops are http://www.betamonkeymusic.com, I rather like these loops and have been using these for nearly all my recordings as they sound more 'real' than I get get drum machines to sound, but other SG'ers seem to do just fine with samples - I'm way too lazy!

BTW - the Sax was played on a Fender Strat with a midi pickup :-)

This sounds like something that would have been playing in Huggy Bear's nightclub when Starsky & Hutch sauntered in. Brilliantly authentic retro funk. Just superb in every way!!!

Haha, that made me  smile, i've been rumbled - I definitely had that in mind when I was working out what to do with this bass line, I even got the wah pedal out and all, but bottled out  ;D ;D ;D ;D
I once saw a band do a cover of the Starsky & Hutch theme tune, its such a brilliant tune - and it went down a storm live!!! I will also admit that my first car was a Hillman Avenger which was bright signal red, with a black vinyl roof, and extra large white Weller wheels - it was a Starkey & Hutch car. All I needed was the extra wide lapels and a kipper tie  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks all for the listens and comments, appreciate the time as always.

That's a great listen Bruno. Killer guitar lines. Your production is brilliant. Everything is crystal clear and has it's own space in the mix. I too will be enjoying listening to this again... super stuff. Thanks for sharing.
