My first foray onto the Original Song side of Songcrafters.  I've started to write a song many, many times.  This is the first one that I could say I finished.

 Small World
     music and lyrics by Rolow

Still you don't know who I am
Changes to the human race
Lots more people, less face to face

The news on TV makes me tired
People come together; shots are fired

Many people are so rude
Why do they want to exclude?
Population keeps on growing
Look out now your greed is showing

All around the world, violence and hate
Better find the love before it's too late

Small World, we have to come together
Don't ignore the changes in the weather
Small World, and a few want it all
The rest of us will have to take the fall
Small World, we gotta be more kind
So open up your heart, and open up your mind

Small World, we have to come together
Don't ignore the changes in the weather
Small World, we gotta get along
That is why I'm singing this song
Small World, we gotta be more kind
So open up your heart, and open up your mind
Let it be known, there is a fountain, that was not made, by the hands of men.

I like the quirky changes in this song: it strikes me as a Small Faces meet Inspiral Carpets number, if that's a valid conflation: it's poppy and fun. Nice harmonies too (voice and guitar).

Great writing effort! Nice hook line. Great ending.

Do you feel inclined to post the lyrics? Not that you have to, but I'm always interested to read them through.
Dueling BR1600s. Beats banjos.

Really well done Rolow,
So well written and performed,
So-Pro sounding.....

A perfect slice of catchy pop. It's got a really cool sounding retro vibe to it - reminds me of my 70s childhood  :)

Leigh, I've added the lyrics to the opening page.  I also spent some time listening to your songs.  You are one very creative lady.  While the style seems a little bit familiar, it is so fresh I can't name any genre or even another artist it brings to mind.  Also, your playing and singing are clean and excellent.  Thanks for commenting.  Between that and listening to your music, I have an idea about what I want to do different/better next time.

I also thank Alex and Johnny for their kind words and encouragement.

I really like this song,I love the different directions it goes to and the instruments sound great.
But there's something in the voice and the lyrics I find almost hypnotic and captivating .
It draws you in,the lyrics describe the direction and the  way this technology driven world has gone.
It's great to have some new contribution and I look forward to many more.
Congratulation on a great performance and a great song.

I like this a lot! Nice pop song with cool indie vibe! This could be from the Alternative Nation or 120 Minutes (MTV indie music shows from the 90's).

Top class performance! The Mandolin puts really good flavor to this!
