One of the songs in the hit parade in the week of my birth (at number 35, its peak position*) was Roger Miller's King of the Road.  Which I'd always seen as a bit of a cliché and a bit naff, to be honest.  But then I started thinking about it with Tommy Fenderbender on the vocal.  So about a week ago I put the idea to him and I'm very please to say that he was happy to do a vocal track.

So a week or so later here is the result.

Bass is my Squier Jaguar into one of the bass amp sims in GB, guitar is my Ibanez acoustic, the rest is out of GB.

Can I say what a pleasure it was to work with you Tommy, you are a legend.

* edit - I was misreading my source. Actually it was in the chart for 15 weeks including one at the top spot. Silly Nicholas

Fantastic collab - snappy backer and the voice to sing it. Nice work, fellas. I dig the fadeout, too. :)

Yes, that was a classic and you did an excellent version.

It does have a swagger.

Holy smokes this is good! I've always loved this tune but an a little embarrassed to admit I discovered it through REMs Dead Letter Office (great album!) But I did quickly discover the original.
Really good job on this gents, it will get many plays from me!
