I'm doing WoMB fest (Week of My Birth), which is a wholly contained subset of the Year-You-Were-Born-fest.

This latest one for WoMB-fest was at number 19 in the Hit Parade on the week in question, down from last week's number 12 having peaked at number 3.  It was right next to my previous entry in the charts, although that's just a coincidence.

It's a song by the Animals which is actually a cover of a song written for (and recorded by) Nina Simone in 1964.  I didn't realise that until I looked up the song on Wikipedia for this just now.

It's a straight cover of the song as far as it goes.

You have drums, bass and organ out of GarageBand as well as guitar (the new one again), recorded over two tracks to sound like a 12 string, a lead vocal and some humming.

I always liked this song. I will have to go listen to Nina Simone's version. You have done a really good rendition of a tough song. That organ sounds great.

This sounds wonderfully of the era. That organ sound is spot on.

What a good song, too. Really well done.
