I've decided that for me it's a day-you-were-born fest, so I got a copy of the (UK) top 50 from the week of 26th March 1965, and I'm only looking at songs on that list.  Luckily there's some good ones on there, and at least one I've already covered here for a previous fest (For Your Love, Yardbirds).

This one then is the first of them, a song from one of Elvis' films, although my version owing a lot more to the Cramps version from the mid-1980's, which is much more my type of thing.  Soon as I saw the title my juices started flowing.  It was at number 20 in the hit parade on the week of my birth, down one place from last week's new entry.

Drums are programmed in DM-1, bass in GB Upright and two guitar tracks using the new one, into the rock'n'roll amp sim on GB.  And I only started yesterday afternoon, guitar parts recorded over basic drum track.  It's not the most sophisticated one, mind.  It appears to be mostly about heavy petting.  And my version is probably more bonkers than the Cramps one, even.

Enjoy.

Cool cover Nick - definetly has that 60's vibe about it. I was trying to find something to cover for my birth year - but I hate most of the tunes :-( Think I'll struggle to find something to do.

Not one I recognise either, but you've definitely captured the vibe. Brilliant retro sound to this... it could almost be Scotty Moore on guitar - lovely playing & superb tone: perfect for this.

Great cover - don't know the original but enjoyed your version. Like the upright bass, it gives it the vintage vibe !
Enjoyed the vocals too.  Must start checking out the 1995 charts so I can join the Fest !  ;)
