I was driving home last night and the ZZ Top song 'Lowdown in the Street' came on my iPod.  I knew I had an opportunity to play my (new) guitar that night and so later I spent a couple of hours trying to get my head (hands) around the guitar part.

Having completely failed to get it, I chucked it and went for guitar indulgence instead.  Resulting in this three and half minutes of one-take improvisation over a hastily created backer.

It's using the new Harley Benton Les Paul for both guitar tracks and new picks (Jim Dunlop 478P Jazz III) - the first picks I've bought in more than two decades.  Feels good to have a point on a pick again, instead of a worn rounded edge.

I don't know the ZZ Top song you mentioned, but it sounds like you've come to grips with the HB Les Paul (pun intended) - definitely lends itself to the heavy atmosphere. Well played, and I enjoyed the listen!

I spent much of the seventies loitering on the periphery of prog rock, and the feel of this track takes me back there. Nice sound, well put together.
