Tony,

I couldn't figure out how to post to the original thread. So here it is. Had a lot of fun with this one. Thanks for allowing me to share.

The vocal is great!  but I would have preferred it with less FX so the great harmonies could really shine!

Bluesberry

Great southern rock vocal Rata.  This sounds realy good.

Cool blends!  Reminds me a little of Golden Earring or Lynrrd Skynrrd with a touch of country rap. Good job!

This is not what I expected! The rap-ish vocals work well and the harmonies in the chorus are spot on, really add power.

However, there's a bit of a quality loss IMO. The stereo seems to have gone from Tony's original - did you import it as stereo and pan it L&R? It seems very central in the mix. The vox sound a bit thin IMO and are also very central in the mix. I think if you spread the whole thing out more it would sound better. There's a lot of potential here, especially if Tony would be prepared to lengthen the song to allow space for vox and then have some guitar only sections. It's a really, really good song.

Cheers,

Nigel

This was really neat.  Had both of you's unique style. Great job!!

Yes... I don't think I imported this right. I downloaded to MP3 and Uploaded to track 1 (Not sure if I imported to Stereo) You could be right. I think I lost something in the Mastering process. I used track 1 V1 as the original track and layer'd tracks 2v1, 3v1, 4v1 with Lead and back up VOX. I noticed the difference right away when I played it back. I just wanted to get some feedback and guidance. You guys have always been such a great help on this site. I really like the lyrics... just think I could do some brushing up on my vocals. Got really pitchy in a lot of places. Also would like to find an effect that puts the vocals more in the center of the project so they can cut through.

Yes I would like to redo this one... This was basically just a thought. I would really like put some time into this one. I really would like to do some justice to Tony's beautiful guitar work.

Thanks for all of the comments.

On another note: I posted a thread earlier about my father comming to live with me in Alaska... about an hour after I posted this song, he passed away. I probably won't get to post for a while, got a lot of stuff to do. Just thought I would share... this board has been very therapeutic throughout this endevor. The comments you guys have shared with me have meant the world. I will try to keep you posted.

I'm sorry for your loss, and hope you are coping OK in what must be a very difficult time for you and your family. Music can be a good distraction sometimes, not to mention a nice way to remember someone and create a lasting tribute. Take care...
