Hook

I know...this is it. No more!!!
Saw this on craigslist and I've really been wanting a Tele. I got this for $100 (no case) and I must say I was surprised when I played it. Can't describe why but it feels nice in my hands, especially for such a wide neck.  The guy said it was a Hondo body with a new (no name) neck. He claims the body is 40 yrs. old but it doesn't look like it. Regardless it's perfect for me. I''l try to record something here to post in the next few days.

Congrats. I think the Tele may be the only guitar you can take to any gig and get respect.

Country - everybody (Guthrie Trapp,  Brent Mason, Albert Lee, Vince Gill, Jerry Donahue to name a few)
Rock - K. Richards, Springsteen, Syd Barrett, Mike Campbell, Jeff Buckley, early Jimmy Page, Summers, Townshend
Blues & RnB - Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, Steve Cropper
Jazz - Mike Stern, Ted Greene, Bill Frisell
Guitarists' guitarists - Jeff Beck, , Tommy Tedesco, Danny Gatton, Roy Buchanan, Jim Campilongo
Metal!? - John 5

On the GAS front over here, I just unboxed this:

NO IDEA who John 5 is, but in the days of NWOBHM, there was Vardis, what a band, powered by the, er, power of Telecaster:

Every body needs a Tele Hook! The faux tortoise shell pick guard set on the black body looks cool as hell. I remember seeing Hondo guitars in a music store I frequented in the 1970's so it's quite possible the body could be 40 years old. It definitely looks road worn with stories to tell.  So let's hear some Tele licks!

I believe John 5 used to work with Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie. He is a Tele nut.

Wow Blooby, John 5 has a fantastic Tele collection! It's time a for a show and Tele time, lol. I just took these pictures of my 1951 Broadcaster/Blackcaster.

John 5 said he paid $135, 000 for his................

I must confess mine is a mock Broadcaster. In the 1980's I modified my 1967 Tele to look like a 1951 Tele Broadcaster. Why? I don't know...guess because I wanted one but couldn't afford it so I made my own, lol. I still have all the parts to put my 1967 Tele back to stock....including a replica logo....well almost to stock.
