first song in ages for me. have stopped for annual leave and am off to Herceg Novi on thursday. so first chance i've had to do anything.

got out the br800, for a riff i had going round my head for a few days. so i fired up pc and called up an old drum track which i used for another song, but tweaked the hell out of it by adding and removing a lot of stuff, but using the base drum track.
with a line out from the pc i recorded the drum track to a stereo track on the br800, i then played the riff twice on my jasmine electro acoustic, with slight variations for each take, then added some bass guitar before adding a couple of stereo juno di tracks.

was struggling for a lyric, so went the henwrench route and repeated the same verse again and again  ::) ;D and used micro br via line in for recording the vocals.

then i dug out my woolies strat copy for the lead guitar parts (i know lead guitar  ::) ::))
anyway it is what it is.
tell me what you see

Dude great job with this song man, it sounds super tight. I really like that lead, man when I heard it I was like whoa and it fits really well with the song. Very impressed brother. I think you could sing the side of a cereal box in and it would sound pretty rockin. Rock on brother!

He tasks me, this hula-hooper.

Liking this tune, and I appreciate the backstory on the recording as I am fascinated by that sort of stuff. The piano up high adds a lot, and I wanna hear more soloing from you. You solo with personality and emotion, something that sometimes get lost along the way with others (myself included at times).

The repeated lyric works well here, by the way.

Amazing job with a few lines of lyric! The backer is awesome too - liked the feel of it!

Very very good James, that lead guitar was a suprise.
It's got guts and melody and attitude.
You could read all sorts into the lyrical contents.
Everything floes along nicely like a poetic stream .
Another one of my favourites now from you.
I always like it when you add more to the mix,you always
Come up with a belter.

You really have an identifiable style all of your own, James. This song with it's mixture of a dark brooding vibe & ambient textures coupled to a hypnotic rhythm is a perfect example of what I mean. Superb stuff, mate. The repeating lyric just adds to the trance-like feel. Brilliant!

Woolies guitar eh? My 1st ever electric guitar was from Woolies, a "Top 20" model...

When you referenced your woolies guitar, I always thought that was some dialect-specific adjective. I took it as "inexpensive."

What I'm saying is I am an idiot.
