I've been pretty busy so it took me a good week to piece this together. I did all of it in the car except the U-bass which I did this morning in the house. The drums are my new Slap Top Cajon, I added a castanet and a cymbal castanet on the sides.
I also got a foot tambourine but I forgot to use it on this. I did do the cajon part in the car but I had to use the passenger seat ;D.

I don't know if there's a light
but I don't think it's right
for us to know if that light
is shining bright
Or if it's dim and dark like night

And when the pulse is lost
does your soul step out and cross
What is now just a threshold
With gold lettering embossed
My wallets  with my body
is there a cost?

Is this one big hippie Gathering
and is everybody here
did I get an invitation
I forgot to RSVP I fear
did I innocently wander In
am I  Party Crashing at the gates
is there still time to repent
or is it just too  late

I've heard that 7 grams
just evaporates away
After carrying around so much so long
you tell me 7 grams is all I get  to take

This one big hippie Gathering
is everybody here
did you lose some weight
I think I might have lost too much my dear
It's good to see you.... maybe
oh look there so and so
Is there still time to repent
I just don't know

I hope skepticism
resentment
anger and fear
Are with my wallet
and not here

Never seen a cajon like that before (just Googled). Brilliant for your car productions.

Oddly, a pastor came to the door just as I was about to hit play on this. Then I read your first verse. I am now considering scotch before noon.

That main uke riff is hypnotic, and the sudden ending is nice.

I request third party footage of you recording in your car. I would hope the windows are rolled up so that you look borderline psychotic to anybody glancing from a distance.

Cool post.

Sounding good. The car works well , doesn't it? I use mine too, as there is no way I would get away with doing that with people around.
Liking the additions you do with different instruments and ideas, you are a creative musician. Rock on!  :)

Great groove indeed, you must have a few favorite places you like to record.
It would be a bit distracting in a built up place or busy car park so the quieter the better.
That gear looks great.
You have so many wonderful different musical instruments at your disposal.
Nice one,great playing as usual.
And great lyrics but the way.
Rock on.

that sounds lush - that cahon sounds great, I really enjoyed that track brother. It has a very open air and live feel about the sound.

Never heard of a "cajon" before, so I just had to google it. I love what you've done with it on here though. A superb rootsy yet funky groove on this. The way you've arranged this is gorgeous... just one complaint: I would have liked it to be twice as long!

Dude! Were you and the car parked at a hippie fest in the Ocala National Forest?  I've heard about those.  Never attended.

Nice groove.  The cajon adds a lot.  Good purchase.
