I always loved this song. I used to sing it to my kids to get them off to sleep. They were babies, so you can sing anything to them no matter how sad.

Instrument list:
The guitars are Cole Clark Acoustic (one channel recorded via AT2020 condenser mic and the other channel straight into BR800),
Bass is Squire Jaguar straight into BR800,
Piano is Cakewalk soft synth,
Organ is Z3ta soft synth,
Horns are Cakewalk soft synth, and
Shaker is coffee can half full of instant coffee - my first attempt at recording percussion.

It was partly recorded on BR800 and partly straight into Sonar using the BR800 as interface. I mixed it in Sonar and then sent the mix to LANDR (free low res mp3) for finishing.

I dig this. The coffee can is brilliant. It's subtle...almost like jazz brushes. I also love how supportive the organ is here. Great approach to the chorus as well.
