This is my take on the old Steve Vai tune, from his "Passion & Warfare" album. I didn't begin to  attempt picking apart the original arrangement; I just figured out the chord sequence & melody and added my own harmony parts in roughly the same places as Steve put his. Same story with the twiddly bits... There's no way I could play like Mr. Vai, so I just used some of my own trusty twiddles to fill in the necessary gaps.

As ever...

Cakewalk Studio Instruments Drums (slight beef preset)
No-name bass
Tele (rhythm guitars, clean & dirty – 2 tracks of each, double tracked & panned L/R)
Harley Benton for all the lead & harmony parts
Vox Tonelab

Thanks for listening :)

Listening on my best headphones, and the sound is HUGE. Fantastic tone and playing, and so expertly put together. Was just getting into it when it ended though!

Serious skills.

Thanks guys... I thought maybe I'd bitten off more than I could chew doing a Steve Vai tune  :)

Here's how it SHOULD sound!

I agree with the previous comments, nicely and proficiently played.

Some really really accurate stuff there John. Nicely recorded and produced too...

If I close my eyes I can envision this being played at a huge stadium concert...it's got that sound to it. You are a fantastic guitarist Johnny!
