Quote from: Blooby on June 14, 2016, 04:10:17 PMI find these posts fascinating. It's cool to see everybody's creative space. It would be interesting to start a thread where people describe their creative process, how to escape ruts, etc.

Following on from what you are saying Blooby...

I always thought everyone should have a kind of a home page on Songcrafters, where they could tell everyone a little about themselves... as little or as much as they would like in terms of why they are a member, what they like to do in terms or music production, what their aspirations are musically, etc...

At the moment I only pick up knowledge on other members based on little bits and pieces i pick up along the way.

The Introduce Yourself board has always been meant to serve that purpose.

Quote from: Hilary on June 17, 2016, 12:05:33 PMThere's an "Introduce Yourself" thread - you could do it there.

Quote from: Mike_S on June 17, 2016, 12:23:30 PMYes Hilary but that info gets kind of lost as more people come on board and your intro post goes further down the thread...

So the problem is that the visibility/accessibility of the Introduce Yourself topic isn't as good as you'd like. As a solution to that problem, I've made everyone's avatars in their messages active links to their Introduce Yourself topic. Of course, if a member hasn't yet posted a topic in the Introduce Yourself board, then there's no link. But most members have posted a topic and, hopefully, those who haven't will soon do so now that this new feature has been added.

When you hover the mouse pointer over an avatar in a message, a hint will be displayed which will tell you whether the member has an Introduce Yourself topic or not.

The Introduce Yourself board is meant to have only one topic per member. If you've already posted a topic there, you can edit it to add whatever information, pictures, links, etc. you want to include as your "Home Page". Please do not add a second topic. Just edit the top post of your existing topic instead.

There's quite a lot you can do to jazz up your home page using different fonts, font sizes, images, links, etc. And if you use Firefox, you can access a lot of useful BBCode stuff from the context menu by right-clicking in your message and browsing the Songcrafters context menu. You'll find handy links for changing text colours, fonts, adding tables, etc.
