In the middle of a rainy June, a mellow little dream about living somewhere sunny and pretty in France oneday. And an underlying thought / fear that Brexit will f**k up the opportunity to actually do it  ::) >:(

Features Takamine acoustic, Fender precision bass, and vocals over Garageband drums, piano, soul organ and 'whirly' organ.

Lyrics:

Avez-vous comme le bleu
Avez-vous comme le bleu

this fleeting moment
this anno domini
is like a cloud drifting 'cross the sky
caught upon a steeple
in some verdant countryside
some shade for you and I

red wine and shutters of blue
i'll take the dust roads there with you
and open up the windows for the sun to climb on through
on red wine and shutters of blue

where cypress trees point black beneath the stars
and silence reigns upon the battle scars

Avez-vous comme le bleu
Avez-vous comme le bleu

a siesta antidote
to european noir
a notebook full of lyrics
and a battered up old car
the mistrals and the zephyrs
in the lilac fields of france
the fruits of all we are

red wine and shutters of blue
i'll take the dust roads there with you
and open up the windows for the sun to climb on through
on red wine and shutters of blue

where cypress trees point black beneath the stars
and silence reigns upon the battle scars

Avez-vous comme le bleu
Avez-vous comme le bleu

Dreamy and laid back feel on this song. You've done fantastic arrangement; all those piano and organ additions are just great! Killer bass line and the GB drums sounds very good and real!

I'm on the second listening...just outstanding song!! I hear some psychedelic vibes, too. This goes onto Greeny collection of mp3 player!

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Hook

Cool song brother. I like the dream meaning of it and the production is quite slick and tight. The use of the garage band drums has really elevated your finished product. Well done. Rock on!

Really nicely orchestrated tune. The vocals especially got me. I'm definitely floating back in for several more listens. Loved this. I have to wonder, though, what the first several chords were to generate the epic string squeaks.

Super nice tune. Really liked this one of yours.

The first part is just two chords, which sound like D and Am, but are played in different shapes up at the 12th fret. For some reason, my Takamine is very squeaky up there. I could have re-recorded it on another acoustic, but I kind of liked the squeaks.

The chorus drops down to a regular D and Am, so no squeaks  :)
