i haven't had much time for music of late, but this morning i came home from work to a quiet house, and i got my jasmine acoustic out and this song came to me quite quickly.

recorded very quickly live in the living room to my micro br. however, when i do get time i plan to use it redoing this song  on my br800 with more instruments etc.

hope you can hear something to like in this very slapdash take.

you can't turn the clock back
or make it go faster
you don't want to live in the past
even the future
is only a whisper
and you don't want to worry about that
we're here in the present
we're here in the now
and it's such a beautiful day
lay back enjoy it
take it all in
it might never happen again
i'm waiting to meet you
i can't stay forever
i'm only a heartbeat away
savour the moment
each one in a million
in only a heartbeat we're gone
we're here in the present
we're here in the now
and it's such a beautiful day
lay back enjoy it
and take it all in
it might never happen again
it might never happen again

Very nice tune, I really like the major-minor thing going on. Definitely worth working on. I really like this song, thoughtful lyrics.

Nice song James
So innocent sounding -
Just wondering -if you recorded this song again with extra instruments -
would it take the whole feeling away

Excellent

ah there's the rub Tommy. In my head i have a rough idea of what i want, however my lack of technical and musical skills, mean that rough idea is unlikely to see the light of day. i suppose it's a bit like action painting, who knows what will come of it.

wish me well.

I really dig these understated tunes you post from time to time. It may actually lose something from a more orchestrated treatment, but it's definitely worth a shot if you can find the time and/or gumption. Cool post.
